“What are you doing for protein?” The one thing everyone seems to know about weight loss surgery is that we have to supplement with protein. But what are the best ones? The faves? Everyone’s tastes are quite different. I put out a Squidoo article of my favorites, but everyone has their own preferences. One way to see what you like/don’t like without spending a ton of money is getting samples.
Some companies do give out samples with every purchase (yup, we do that!) Some companies sell sample packs or single servings (yup, we do that too!) If you are looking for something local, some stores like Walmart will take back opened protein containers if you end up not liking them. Personally, I’ve always had the best luck with recommendations. But once again, that’s just me 🙂
When you do find something you like, I still recommend not buying too much of one product. After my bypass surgery, when on full liquids, I at tomato soup every single day. After my liquid phase was over, I couldn’t eat tomato soup for like two years. Stick to smaller packs of protein. Variety is the spice of life and that applies to protein too!
