Hi All,
I am coming up on the seventh year anniversary of my surgery.  Years of getting protein, vitamins, and nutrition in, and tweaking recipes to make them pouch friendly, going through complications, a pregnancy, and a whole lot of clothes.  I managed to lose 105 pounds and keep it off.

Before gastric bypass

After gastric bypass

I had several post-op’s help me out along the way, and I want to do the same for all the newbies out there.  Check back often for recipes, tips, and ideas to help the journey go a little smoother!

Hello, I'm Kate, and I'm a 10 year gastric bypass post-op. I started this blog, as well as my nutritional website, to help other bariatric surgery post-op's on their journey as well as pre-op's with their decision if bariatric surgery is right for them or not.

  1. Thank you so very much for your wonderful advice on your surgrey. I am very new at this and I had the bypass 9 days ago. I would love to ask you more question about my concerns if you would not mind helping me. I go back to the surgin tomorrow. Im sure that I will get a few of them answered. I really enjoyed reading all of your answers. Im just so tired of the full liquid stage. I want to move on!!thanks again. Laura Hargrave

    1. Hi Laura, congrats on your surgery, I hope you are feeling well! It’s best to stay on the liquid stage as long as your doctor requires. This gives your insides a chance to heal before trying to digest food. I know it gets old, but it’ll be over before you know it, and you’ll be on to soft foods!

  2. Thank-You for the great info, recipes & positive outlook! I was having anxiety over if I should or shouldn’t have RNY. Feeling more positive about it now. Scheduled for surgery Oct. 8th 2015.
